Frequently asked questions
M4A or MP3?
M4A (AAC) sounds better at the same bitrate. MP3 is more compatible with older players and car stereos.
What’s the difference between M4A and M4R?
It’s the same format – M4R is just the file extension for iPhone ringtones. You can make a ringtone on the iPhone ringtone page.
Are tags kept?
The original’s tags are left out for privacy. Enter the artist and album in the Tags tab, and the title and cover in the editor.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Audio and recordings are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in the privacy policy.
